Thank you for purchasing your kitchen or bathroom from Howegate Bathrooms & Kitchens Ltd, please see below terms and conditions of sale.
Estimates - All Estimates are valid for 7 days from the date of receipt and are subject to change and can be repealed at any point with notification from either party.
Changes/ Errors - Please check all colours, finishes, details, products and measurements are accurate and advise of any changes or errors within 48 hours of this email as any changes or errors reported after 48 hours will be fully chargeable to the client. It is the client/installers responsibility to check the sizes and measurements of the design and site. If Howegate Bathrooms & Kitchens Ltd are supplying the installation please ignore this, although we do recommend a double check.
Delivery - your delivery has been booked for approximately 5 weeks from date of receiving the deposit, we always aim for a timed delivery but are not responsible for this time, it is done as a courtesy, the delivery can arrive any time the agreed day of delivery. Full payment for kitchens is required no later than 3 weeks before delivery, failure to do so will result in a delayed delivery. Bathrooms require full payment no later than 5 working days before delivery, failure to do so will result in a delayed delivery. Please note failed full kitchen deliveries can incur a re-delivery charge of up to £500 plus vat. Failed bathroom deliveries can incur a re-delivery charge of up to £100 plus vat. You have 48 hours to report any damage from date of delivery. If you notice any damaged packaging on your delivery, please ensure that you highlight this with the driver and please also let us know immediately. We recommend you clear a large enough space in your home prior to delivery as your new kitchen or bathroom may take up more space than you think.
Deposits - All deposits are subject to a 14 day cooling off period. After the 14 day cooling off period deposits will no longer be refundable. We will remove any costs that Howegate Bathrooms & Kitchens Ltd has incurred in the production of your kitchen or bathroom through design, logistics, production and date cancellation charges. This is dependent on how far along the process the kitchen or bathroom is and could incur additional costs above and beyond the deposit amount. The exception of the 14 day cooling off period would be if you require a special order item within less than 3 weeks, this would be treated as a special order and full payment would be required. Refunds and returns are not applicable to special bespoke orders unless item is faulty or damaged.

Materials and part labour due 2 weeks before installation date.
Remaining balance due upon completion of installation.
Extras to be paid upon receipt.
Delayed deliveries – Howegate Bathrooms & Kitchens Ltd work on a lean procurement/manufacture/storage basis, this means once a kitchen is manufactured it must be delivered on the date agreed, if a delivery is delayed we may have to store your kitchen in a third-party facility and charge accordingly.
Plans/Drawings/visuals – Howegate Bathrooms & Kitchens Ltd cannot accept liability for any measurements or room dimensions, please ensure you or your customer have checked that the plan is accurate and reflects the order against the requirement, all visuals are generic and therefore for illustrative purposes only and do not form any part of the purchase agreement or contract.
Returns - As a bespoke kitchen supplier, all units are made to order therefore we are unable to accept returns of units/wireworks/doors/drawers/panels etcetera, however some appliances, worktops etcetera may be available for return but this will incur a minimum 30% re-stocking charge, this is in addition to any transport costs incurred for collection/return of the product. Due to supplier restrictions, no returns can be accepted after 7 days of delivery. We cannot replace/credit items that have been used, cut, drilled or customised in any way. This also applies to our bathroom ranges.
Tiling - Standard tiling charge covers materials such as adhesive, grout, silicone and trims. Tiles are not included. Standard tiling charge covers tile sizes 100x200mm up to 300x600mm only any larger or smaller will fall under specialist tiling. Standard tiling charge covers ceramic and porcelain tiles only. Standard tiling charge covers straight and brickbond tile formation only any other specific formation will fall under a specialist tiling charge. Standard tiling can be used with floor tiling however a sub floor will be extra (Hardie backer boards).
Warranties – All warranties are held with respective suppliers, we will guarantee our work for 1 year and have a call back on it for that period for any problems caused by poor workmanship, note this does not extend to the layout of the kitchen/ bathroom or the location of items after installation. Every kitchen/ bathroom is unique so please ask us for individual warranties for your specific project. All manufacturers warranties, information, terms and conditions will be within their individual brochure received upon initial visit.
Appliance Warranty - All appliance warranties are the responsibility of the end user and must be registered within the timescale specified by the manufacturer. Any faults within the warranty period to be reported to the manufacturer.
Call outs – In the case of a supply only kitchen we encourage you to get in touch with your fitter for any problems in the first instance if this isn’t possible, we will send a team out but this could be chargeable, please contact us for details.
Balance payments - Balance payment for bespoke kitchens are required 3 weeks before delivery and 6 weeks if it is a paint to order kitchen. Payment for bathroom items are required 5 days prior to delivery, failure to receive clear funds on time may affect the manufacturing and or delivery date. In the case of a supply and install an Installation deposit is required to book in an installation date this deposit is non-refundable after 14 day cooling off period. Materials and part labour charge is required 2 weeks before installation. Remaining balance is due upon tests and completion. Failure to pay upon completion may lead to late payment fees and any additional legal costs secure payment .
Consequential losses - Howegate Bathrooms & Kitchens Ltd cannot under any circumstances be held liable for consequential losses howsoever caused, we advise you take delivery of your kitchen prior to arranging any tradesmen etc.
Works – Works carried out will only be those expressly detailed on your quote/invoice, any other work over and above what is listed on your quote/invoice will be chargeable.
Solid Surface Worktops - All solid surfaces will be subject to a template and installation. The dates of these will be confirmed by Howegate Bathrooms & Kitchens Ltd following confirmation of order. Templating guidelines and a list of fitting expectations will be supplied prior to templating. Changes to template or fitting dates due to installation hold ups or abandoned templating due to incorrect fitting of the units will incur additional cost to the end user and a second template may take up to 4 weeks. Installation of worktops will be within 14 days of successful templating. Any additional material or changes not agreed before order will incur extra costs to the end user and will be added to your final payment.
Customer Supplied Products – Howegate Bathrooms & Kitchens Ltd are happy to fit appliances and products supplied by the customer in the course of fitting their kitchen or bathroom however this is to the installers discretion, we require these products to be on site and available on the first day of installation and it is the customer’s responsibility to ensure the product purchased will fit and any fault that needs attention with these products outside of faulty workmanship will not be fulfilled by Howegate Bathrooms & Kitchens Ltd. In the case of a supply only kitchen or bathroom we are happy to check appliance sizes but it is the customers responsibility to ensure that they fit.
Home survey-
We offer free home surveys to EH postcodes only excluding- EH1, EH2, EH3, EH4, EH5, EH6, EH11, EH12, EH14, EH27, EH28, EH29, EH30, EH38, EH43, EH44, EH45, EH46, EH47, EH48, EH49, EH51, EH52, EH53, EH54, EH55.
These postcodes will be subject to a home visit charge of £40.00 paid before the home visit. Failure to pay 48 hours before will forfeit home visit date and a rebooking would be required.
If a home visit has been completed and an estimate has been issued you have 30 days until the estimate and home visit has expired which will require a secondary home visit which costs £40.00 this includes postcodes within the free home visit areas. You will receive an AUTO REMINDER email between 25-28 days after the initial estimate has been issued. All insurance home visits and estimates will be subject to a £40.00 refundable (refundable once estimate has been accepted and removed from final invoice) home visit charge.
Free cancellation and money back if cancelled 3 hours before home visit date and time. The home visit charge is refunded against the the full installation price at the end of the project. An estimate can be given based on sizes and pictures of bathroom or kitchen given by client free of charge at the discretion of the showroom manager. If Howegate Bathrooms & Kitchens Ltd is to cover the installation a home visit will be mandatory before the project is booked in. A home visit for supply only is subject to surveyors discretion and will incur a home visit charge if required. Howegate Bathrooms & Kitchens Ltd covers Edinburgh, Midlothian, East Lothian and the Scottish Borders for full installation and supply. We can supply all over UK but can only provide home visits to Edinburgh, Midlothian, East Lothian and Scottish Borders. Any where else will require fuel expenses, overnight stay etc.
Emergency call outs-
Emergency call outs are free under the one year workmanship warranty within our working hours of Monday-Friday 9:00-5:00pm. Outside these hours maybe be subject to an emergency call out fee. Emergency Call out fees are £75.00. Emergency call out fees do not cover any work or time on site. Emergency call out fees cover tradespeople attending property and inspection only. After inspection an hourly charge rate will be applied along with materials if required. Emergency call out fees are to be paid before attendance.
Deliveries-
We offer kerb side deliveries and next day deliveries subject to product, time of order and location.
Special offers*-
Our offers such as “Free home visit”, “Free delivery” fall under our terms and conditions above. Our installation offers are subject to room size, current condition of bathroom/ kitchen, placement of products, water/ electrical/ gas supplies, additional work required, available dates and waste management options.

This applies to customers who have had an installation through Howegate Bathrooms & Kitchens Ltd. £150.00 cash back to the client who passed on the recommendation. Recommendations must be given using the exclusive loyalty card received after installation. Cash back only available on full supply and fit installations, cash back only received after completion of recommendation.

Kitchen/ Bathroom Price Match*-
We will beat all equivalent competitor (Wren, Magnet, MKM, Kitchen Depot and howdens) quotes for kitchen units with doors of comparable specification, quality, style and composition. Excludes online-only competitors. Excludes discontinued, clearance, promotional and ex-display stock. Excludes delivery and installation. Appliances must be same make and model. Competitor quotes must include comparable product warranty. Copy of competitor quote must be provided at time of claiming offer. Offer only applies to first quote issued by competitor. Competitor quotes must be dated up to 28 days prior to the issue of our quote and must have been issued in writing on competitor’s headed paper or from its official email address. Our quote is valid for 30 days. Offer not valid in conjunction with any other offer. We reserve the right to suspend or discontinue this offer at any time.
